Medicine requires problem solving, and patients recognize that it’s difficult to fully discuss problems and issues with a provider who appears rushed. That’s why I feel it is important to take the time needed with each patient to fully listen, understand and begin to solve their problems. Getting to know patients personally as well as medically is the key to understanding what patients need to get and stay healthy. Because I’m from New London and now live in Clintonville, I have a special interest in rural medicine and providing care to what is often an underserved population. Growing up and continuing to live in a small town has given me unique insights into the distinctive needs of a population that I’m also a part of.
